The terrain in an around Pittsburgh consists of rolling to steep hills, with mountain passes and bridges, creating breathtaking views at every turn. With the visitors who have traded along these rivers for generations, Pittsburgh has become a cultural as well as educational capital of the midwest, and offers the same variety and quality of theater and other entertainment which might be found along the Atlantic seaboard, yet its proximity to the farms, mines and small towns of rural America, in Southern Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio, and the unique accent of this region, lend a comfortable and familiar American warmth to this busy city which always beckons a return visit. Pittsburgh offers the full range of accommodations from large, familiar and predictable chain hotels in the city, to the affiliated franchises in the suburbs, and unique bed and breakfasts inns further out.
